AIMS OVERVIEW
AIMS is an advanced information system that delivers critical information about each international air passenger's risk profile to the Immigration Department travelling in and out from each specific country through the international airports.
AIMS involves in an automated pre-screening of international air passengers in advance of their arrival to or departure from the specific country through a process typically known as passenger risk management. This will include acquiring international air passenger information in advance of their arrival in that specific country.
AIMS system is an advanced risk management solution providing an added layer of security to border control.
AIMS enhances the Immigration Department's capabilities in targeting and focusing on the international air passengers who are deemed to be suspicious.
By having the international air passenger information in advance, the Immigration Department will have more time to assess and validate the potential risk posed by each and every passenger.
AIMS facilitate the Immigration Department to deliver more efficient and effective services to its "customers" - mainly travellers, both visitors and residents through its various checkpoints.
Bona fide international air passengers can be cleared faster when they arrive at all international airports. In line with the global initiative to ensure higher security standards required for Immigration processing but at the same time, facilitate bona-fide travellers through the international airport immigration checkpoints.
AIMS benefits
- Improved Border Control and Security of Checkpoints
- Early notification, better planning, reduction in reliance in dependence on a single system, better validation of suspects.
- Improved Speed of Processing at the Border
- Average of 25% for Machine Readable Travel Documents and 33% for others.
- Accuracy in Data Capture
- Data collected electronically and verified at various touch points.
- Improved Efficiency of Immigration Department
- reduction in manual entry (flight details), allowing more time to make an informed decision.
- Improved Efficiency of Inter- Department Cooperation
- Single source of data allowing "Common view" of passenger across departments.
- Improved Satisfaction by Airlines
- Implicitly airline-friendly, an improved level of compliance with government requirements and most importantly the carriage of fewer high risk and/or improperly documented passengers.
- Improved Satisfaction by Travellers
- Reduced waiting time in immigration lines to the simpler visa process (possible future upgrade).
The Asia Pacific Economic Council (APEC) has also recognised the benefits of such a system and has recommended that its member states implement such a system in accordance with guidelines provided by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).
European Union (EU) has also implemented a directive to require all their member states to introduce legislation to implement such a system
The technology used in AIMS is a proven technology based on a global standard in compliance to the APEC / WCO / IATA standard, which provides sub-second processing supplemented with local IT customization to the needs of Immigration. This technology will further improve the security pre-screening and also, to deter and control terrorism or cross-border criminal activities.
It will also be in line with the Regional Movement Alert System or RMAS, by APEC, which is being implemented widely.
Other services including projects undertaken
- Municipality Video Surveillance Project

Several states in Malaysia have embarked on video surveillance projects. These are considered large video surveillance project for the country that would establish surveillance over all major hotspots and key road junctions in the various municipalities.
The surveillance systems would provide a 24/7 command and control system that would be enable authorities to track personnel and identify vehicles with the use of license plate recognition systems.
Intersolve with its partners have provided consultancy services to a number of municipality governments and will continue to establish our presence in this growing market.
- Command and Control Center Design and Consultancy

Command and Control Centers need to be designed and built integrated controls and display systems showing details or data and visuals, to be visible to personnel on a central video wall with 3 large rear-projection screens. Maps, data, surveillance camera feeds and more are continuously displayed, including a system-wide map which depicts every key area under surveillance. Information need to be constantly updated to ensure the ability to respond to system defects, disruptions, damage and potentially threatening incidents quickly and efficiently. The entire system can be monitored, controlled, and coordinated by one person. Any image can be resized, zoomed, and panned for greater detail and focus. Included is an interactive touch-screen which allows the personnel to notate over the image, and control software.
The above design work are some of the consultancy design which Intersolve and its partners have carried out, mainly in tandem with Large Video Surveillance systems implemented.
